2026 Ford Expedition

2026 Ford Expedition

The 2026 Ford Expedition continues the transformation introduced last year, with several key updates aimed at large families and drivers looking for a do-it-all SUV. Still available in regular and MAX formats, Ford's full-size SUV receives updated technology, new appearance packages, and a more capable-than-ever Tremor version. The Expedition remains one of the few vehicles in its segment to combine true towing capability, a spacious interior for up to eight passengers, and credible off-road performance.

Tremor

The biggest news for 2026 is the arrival of the Tremor model, replacing the previous Timberline trim. Inspired by Ford's Tremor truck lineup, this version features a more aggressive design and off-road-focused components. It includes an electronically limited-slip differential, all-terrain tires, skid plates, and an intelligent four-wheel drive system with multiple drive modes. Under the hood, a high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 delivers 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. This variant also benefits from increased ground clearance and improved off-road angles for enhanced trail capability.

Interior

The 2026 Ford Expedition adopts a more advanced interior layout, with a digital experience inspired by the Lincoln Navigator. Higher trims now feature a massive 24-inch panoramic display mounted across the top of the dashboard, paired with a 13.2-inch central touchscreen. The Ford Digital Experience infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a range of connected apps. Heated, ventilated, and massaging seats remain available depending on the trim level. Interior space continues to be a major strength, especially in the MAX version, which offers a large cargo area even behind the third row.

Capability

Despite its more modern approach, the 2026 Expedition retains its strong utility credentials. When properly equipped, it can tow up to approximately 9,600 lb according to Canadian specifications. The independent rear suspension improves on-road comfort, while the EcoBoost engine delivers surprisingly quick acceleration for a vehicle of this size. Platinum trims can also be equipped with the 440-horsepower high-output engine typically reserved for the Tremor. Ford's BlueCruise hands-free driving system remains available on select trims, adding a premium touch for long highway journeys.

Cargo

The Expedition stands out with a spacious and versatile interior designed for comfort and practicality. With generous dimensions, it can seat up to eight passengers while offering excellent headroom and legroom. Cargo capacity is equally impressive, exceeding 3,400 litres with the seats folded down. The dual-panel tailgate, featuring an independently opening rear glass, makes accessing the cargo area easier, even in tight spaces. For everyday use, the 2026 Ford Expedition also offers numerous storage compartments, flexible seating configurations, and smart technologies that simplify daily driving.
